In the fall of 2020 (yes, THAT 2020), Preacher began in a basement in North Syracuse. For what seemed like an eternity, Preacher stayed in that basement, honing a sound that was oddly familiar, yet radically different for the surrounding area.
When the world began reopening, Preacher ventured out into the local music scene with surprising success. After being locked down, it seemed people were looking for some raucous fun, and Preacher was ready to deliver. As often happens in bands, with differing opinions and strong personalities, personnel changes happened. It took a hot minute to stabilize the roster, and Preacher now has that special sauce that bands look for.
Comments from audience members have been enthusiastic and positive:
“It reminds me of the early punk scene in the late 70s”, said one former denizen of London who was around in the era.
“Americana on steroids”, commented another convert.
“Unabashed, unapologetic rock-n-roll”, said a TV personality.
So Preacher is here to deliver the goods. With fast-paced, high-energy rock-n-roll, who could ask for anything more? We’re not looking to be pigeon- holed in any particular genre, because as we say here at Preacher-Central, “We’re not like the other bands…here…in the trailer park”!
